Corie Hodges

CorieCorie Hodges is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, she completed her Nutrition and Dietetic Honours degree at the University of Newcastle. She has also completed a Medical Nutrition Therapy course specialising in Bariatrics. Corie has worked in a variety of hospital and community settings providing evidence based nutrition assessments and interventions individualised for each of her patients.

Corie enjoys being able to share not only the nutrition guidelines for pre and post Bariatric Surgery but also the many practical tips and tricks she has developed to ensure maximal weight loss is achieved. She works with patients to plan individualised strategies and identifies easy and meaningful ways to apply these. She passionately believes a crucial part of the process is ensuring that right nutrition is managed before and after surgery. Corie works individually and with Dr Thiruchelvam to ensure our patients are eating adequate variety from the food groups, and to develop good behavioural and eating habits as this is not only integral to the patient’s health but also their weight loss and long-term weight maintenance.

Corie is a passionate Dietitian and with her expertise she strives to provide the highest quality nutrition assessment, education and dietary advice for all her patients to ensure you are getting good nutrition long term post-surgery.


Erin

ErinErin Clarke is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who moved from Port Macquarie to Newcastle where she completed her Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Newcastle.

Erin enjoys working with patients to help them meet their goals and aiding patients in overcoming barriers that impact their relationship with food. Erin has a passion for providing evidenced based and supportive care for her patients and enjoys working with children and adults to help them eat a healthy balanced diet. Erin is so passionate about nutrition and evidenced based care that she is undertaking a PhD at the University of Newcastle in Nutrition and Dietetics where she is conducting clinical trials to further understand how diet can influence health outcomes and prevent chronic disease.


Services that the dietitians provide:

  • Provide one on one individualised consults to help make sure you get the best results post-surgery
  • Provide support at all stages of your weight loss journey with regular follow-ups in the first 12months after bariatric surgery and ongoing yearly updates in the proceeding years following your surgery.
  • Provide combined consults with the dietitian and Dr Thiruchelvam
  • Consults can be completed in person or as a telehealth appointment.
  • Provide consultations on gastrointestinal issues e.g. difficulty swallowing.
  • Support you in overcoming your barriers to making dietary changes by providing real strategies.
